TRAINING
AND THE SALON EXPERIENCE
For us to deliver a world-class salon experience every time a client walks through our door, we need to ensure that our entire team is trained to a consistently high standard.
This training starts from the day an apprentice joins us and continues on for everyone from our junior stylists to our seasoned veterans. This helps us ensure that as trends change, new techniques emerge and new products become available, there are no surprises for anyone.
We deliver training in three ways.
#1
A salon-wide training strategy, with mentorship and materials provided by an external training consultant.
#2
An experienced in-house trainer to provide hands-on training and mentoring for stylists and apprentices.
#3
An apprenticeship program with regular, practical in-salon opportunities and training.
WHO SAYS THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A FREE HAIRCUT?
At The Salon, there is.
The best way for our apprentices to practice their cutting and colouring skills is outside salon hours, when it's not too busy.
Every Monday evening at The Salon, our in-house trainer runs practical cutting and colouring sessions for our apprentices, closely supervising every service that they complete.
Models don't pay for haircuts and only pay for the cost of the product for colours. Time taken may be slightly longer than usual to allow for feedback and supervision.
